A new page has been added to Broden Creative – the comic strip Keegle. It was a project I started when I first set out on my own as a creative director. I always loved comics. From an early age I read the comic page of the newspaper religiously. Peanuts, Calvin & Hobbes, Herman, The Far Side, Bloom County – I grew up with an abundance of great artists and I worshiped many. I always knew that some day I wanted to have my own syndicated comic strip. I submitted the first 30 strips you can now read here to eight feature syndicates. Three of them returned my material with quite positive feedback but all of them refused me. In the meantime I have built up the corporate design side of my business but the ability to shape characters and build your own world still intrigues me. Those I hold closest assure me that my inability to take most things seriously and a penchant for doodling will help benefit Keegle’s outlook. Sadly, newspapers are going the way of the buggy whip. Still, there are new ways to reach an audience and now Keegle has a permanent home. I do hope you take a moment to see the few new pages and return occasionally. Just look for the new tab at the top of the menu named Keegle or simply go to Keegle.ca.

Cheers!
